Belizean Resident (Citizens) who rent/lease a place to live in.
Foreigners who have obtained Permanent Residency and rent/lease a place to live in.
Foreigners who have obtained QRP Status and rent/lease a place to live in.
Foreign workers who have valid work permits and rent/lease a place to live in. (Diplomats, Ambassadors, etc.)
Foreign students who have valid student visas and rent/lease a place.
Foreigners who have a business interest in Belize (work or cooperation agreement)
Foreigners who own property in Belize.
A regular tourist who reports to the Immigration Department every month to get their Tourist Visa extended is not able to rent a long-term rental property; they are required to stay in a property that is registered by BTB (notwithstanding the length of stay), and hotel taxes are to be declared on their behalf.
